Core Services
Learning with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
Our highly experienced Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) work closely with your child, both in your family’s home and at your child’s school to provide instruction in Braille or low vision modalities, and adaptive technology training. TVIs get to know and care for your child and ensure that lesson plans are appropriately adapted to meet the individual needs of each student.
Orientation & Mobility (O&M)
O&M Specialists teach your child how to navigate their immediate surroundings and travel more independently through white cane mobility training and assistive technology. This results in increased confidence and independence in school, at home and in the community.
Enrichment Opportunities
Beyond Blindness provides enrichment and multi-sensory learning opportunities at our facilities and throughout the community. For example, our summer camp is a two-week long day camp where children enjoy arts & crafts, STEM projects, adaptive sports, creative themed days, and unforgettable field trips.
